Review: Cadbury Crunchie Blast

Another late night shop run, I think the people in the shop are gettin fed up of me arriving as they are about to lock the door, but what can you do?.. Infact, that reminds me about my trip to maplin yesterday, where they were shut at 1755, and were supposed to be open til 1800 so I rang and enquired on my mobile and got let in! hah!

Anyway, pretty uneventful trip to the shop, got that milk I forgot the get earlier and spotted a new chocolate bar…. A “Cadbury Crunchie Blast”, so I figured I’d do what any true-blooded geek would do. I’d blog the event. To be honest, the Crunchie Blast was a real disappointment, far too much chocolate and not enough of the honeycomb stuff, which, tbh, is not what I want when I’m buying a crunchie… As for the whole I’m going to make your mouth crackle for ages and drinking will only make it worse effect, well I feel it’s far too pass√ɬ© and cadbury’s should know better! Shame on you!

Conslusion

To conclude, I am not impressed…. Just get a crunchie, you get what you want, without any horrible side effects!

As I was hiking up London Road, it suddenly occured to me how very hungry I was. I came to the cross-roads and a crucial decison had to be made.. I went straight on, and let my stomach guide the way. Admittedly, the extra distance was not far. However, it is not the distance that concerned me, or my legs.

At the point that I choose to go straight on, the steepness of the hill increases from something you can handle pretty much without thinking, to somthing that requires a little more effort. And by that, I mean it becomes one of those hills where you have to noticeably put more effort into your walking. Real effort!

The walk seemed to take forever, but my mind was occupied, mentally building my tasty subway snack! I thought I had it all planned out, atleast, I knew exactly what I wanted!

I get to the door and try to push it open with no success, immediately I realise my error and pull the door open, hoping nobody noticed. Good Start.
I arrive at the counter and the lad approaces me, I place my order as accurately as I can think possible (I even specified bread type!), hoping that no follow-up questions will be asked. I couldn’t have been more wrong! Would you like that toasted? Warmed? Toasted and warmed? Warmed then toasted? Would you like whipped cream on that? Would you li… STOP! I have had enough! I just want a fooking buttie!

Admittedly, being the experienced subway eater that I am, I made it through the ordeal and was rewarded with a tasty snack. I do, however, feel for any subway n00bs. Unexperienced folk entering the realm of subway for the first time, unexpectedly hit with a barrage of questions! It is enough to being a grown man to tears. To all of whom I speak, do not let this put you off! You can achieve your goal! And it is worth it! Just study the menu ;-)

Shit- I forgot to buy milk

I have been asked, what my tasty subway order was, and I must admit, it was a little short sighted of me not to tell you.. How better to help the subway beginners of the world than to share my own experience? Today, I went super crazy experimental and got two 6 inchers, as opposed to the standard footlong. My regular subway, which I would recommend to anyone and everyone goes as follows (try to order it like this, and they don’t have to ask ANY questions!):

  • Footlong Hearty Italian with chicken and double cheese, heated in the microwave with the cheese on top
  • A little lettuce, not too much (I feel the need to over-state this, overwise your subway gets overwhelmed with greenery!).. cucumbers and some green peppers
  • Loads of mayonnaise, and a little of the Ranch Dressing, which is basically mayonnaise & sweet chilli!

And there you have it, the _best_ subway you’ll ever have. After today, however, I can also recommend the following, if.. for some reason, the chicken supreme doesn’t tickle your fancy!

  • Footlong Hearty Italian with tuna and double cheese, toasted
  • Cucumbers and green peppers only
  • Additional mayonnaise, as it gets a little dry being toasted, imo

And there you have it.. Pretty much all I have to offer as far as Subway Meal Advice goes.. I enjoy the chicken one so much that I’ve never felt the need to change! Hope you enjoy it too!!
