It’s been a while…

Mostly because I’ve not got internet access at the minute (and I hate it!). I’ve changed jobs, and am now full time at The County because the telesales stuff was shite. I was ill most of last week so didn’t go in anyway. Club Day was shit, as to be expected… But I worked behind the bar anyway. I got a new phone and number so if you’ve not got my new number, get in touch somehow (leave a comment?) and I’ll sort you out… Maybe!

That’s about all I’ve got time to say really - I start work in 15 mins and have to get to the bank before I go to work, so I’d best scoot. Probably won’t be another update for a while…. Stay faithful!

I have a job!!

That’s right! Those telesales people rang me back yesterday and offered me the job - I start monday! Workin’ 0900-1730, Monday-Thursday. Looks like I might be getting a part-time job at the county too, just evening work to bring some extra pennies in!

I was approached by someone pseudo-familiar in Weatherspoons yesterday.. “Are you starting…” he began “here we go”, I thought. “…At Arena Sports?”
Hehe, what do you know… I was in the pub with the lads from work before I’d even started there! I didnt speak to them much, but asked what the money was like. One of the lads said he’d taken away √Ǭ£400 odd this week, which is pretty damn good considering the basic salary is √Ǭ£10,000. Thats about it from me. I went to the tache last night but it was shit, as usual.

a productive day!

When I woke up this morning, I had nothing to actually do.. I mean, I had things to do, but not appointments or meetings to make. Within an hour of leaving the house (which I did at 1030 or something stupid) I already had a flat viewing arranged for 1400 and a job interview at 1530. Looking good! After walking around the square for a bit, talking to estate agents and what not I retired back home for a bit to eat and some e-window-shopping “for the mrs”.

The flat was fucking cool, a little steep at √Ǭ£420pcm but it was lush! Completely newly fitted, new kitchen, new bathroom, newly plastered and painted walls, new electrics, the works! Nice and spaceous, with lots of light to the living room. Mixed living room/kitchen, which I’m very fond of!

After a hike to lytham, I arrived at my job interview. Had a chat with the guy, and he seemed pretty keen on me. Towards the end of the interview he said:

Guy: I presume you’re wanting to start right away?
Me: Well, as soon as possible, yes
*Guy looks around office*
Guy: Well as you can see it’s a little busy in here at the minute…. Let me ring you on thursday, I’ll either have another desk or an empty one for you by then.. I normally run this kind of thing by the Directors but you seem like a smart lad.

Seems pretty hopeful to me!

That’s about it really, tried to get my post on the way home but nobody was home. Going to bed now cos some tw*t has split shit all over this keyboard so the keys keep sticking and it’s doing my fucking head in. ‘nite
Update: Oh yeh, forgot to mentioned, spoke to the silly bitch who interviewed me a few days ago too.. I didn’t get the job. Fuck her. Fuck her in her silly fat ass.

Google Excel.. Again

Filed under: Life, Technology — Will Boyce on June 11th, 2006 @ 2:31

And yet they never fail to amaze! For FireFox users out there, there is a new version of the Google Toolbar, and A fancy new plugin that allows you to keep your Browser settings synced.. AND restore a previous session from another PC (Session being what tabs are open etc).. Fucking awesome! You can get them both Here

Naturally, saving the best til last, there is now (if you’re lucky enough to get in) Google Spreadsheets.. [you see what I did with the title now!] I’m willing to bet it’s more stable than Excel and has plenty of features! Is there anything these guys can’t do with AJAX? You can sign up to Google Spreadsheets here. Should be interesting to see how all this ties in with the rumoured GBrowser, really nicely I’d imagine!

Went to Blackpool last night… It was so awfully terrible! Started drinking pretty early in the day with Sam. By the time Bryson got home from work we were pretty drunk. Eventually we decided to set off to Blackpool (joined by Zack). We got to the tache, and left again. Probably less than 30 people in there… Probably cost us about √Ǭ£2 a minute to be in there. So we headed for Jenx… No student ID meaning it’d cost loads - couldn’t be arsed with that so we jumped a Cab back to st annes. I nearly killed myself running through Ashton Gardens.. Tripped over my own foot and that sent my legs way up in the air, threw my whole body forwards a good few meters before I landed promptly on my face/arm. Ouch. My hands look fucked today, covered in cuts and about 7 blisters! So yeh, then we came back here for more drinking and what not.

Went to the pub to watch the England match today, then sat in the sun all day. Probably the most boring Saturday, ever.

the morning after..

Hmm, did quite a lot of (non-productive) stuff yesterday.Had that interview at 1300.. Put myself across as the best bar man in the world and all that. Used words like cognoscente and aptitude on the little form she gave me…Mostly to show off a bit :P Thanks wotd! hehe.

Anyway, after the interview I went and sat in the sun for a long time [in Ashton Gardens]. Even managed to get a little sunburn! Madness! Played some football, got far too hot…. Went to The Admiral after a while, and had a few pints in the sun, before coming back here with Bryson, Kit, Charli & Lauren to get more wasted :D

Interview was the only news really - but I am wondering how I’m going to find time to work so much between getting wasted and sitting in the sun!
